Cowabunga Christmas: Michelangelo Sketchbook

Turtle Tidings! Join me on a sewer sleigh ride and celebrate the holiday season with Turtle Power. Throughout December, I'll be featuring a slew of seasonal Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles items from past to present. In The Sewer Den's 5th year running, Cowabunga Christmas will be brimming with festive creations, wacky discoveries, and plenty of pizza! Get merry.

OOZING WITH HOLIDAY SPIRIT

I've got a holiday decorating hack. It's nothing groundbreaking, but something I often use in a pinch when covering my home in festive decor. Books! Holiday reads are the best way to fill in dead spots and cover up the boring spots in your living space. Everything from the classics to thrift store finds, it all works. But my personal recommendation is to do it with Turtle Power. Have you spotted the Michelangelo Sketchbook: A Wonderful Holiday Tale on store shelves? Not only does it make for a solid decoration, but it's a seasonal read worth thumbing through.

NAUGHTY OR NICE?

Back in December of 1985, the original team behind TMNT, Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird, released a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Christmas comic book special. It's classic. But this newly-released version offers new insight and amazing artwork, pulling the curtain back and giving readers a peek at the creative process. There's commentary from Eastman along with character sketches and original panel layouts. The original comic is in here too, so you can read that if you never got the chance.

COWABUNGA
 CONCLUSION

Like putting decorations on a Christmas tree, the book is carefully displayed in my home. Not only is it festive, but also boasts some of the best holiday artwork that's available for TMNT fans. It's something you can easily return to year after year, making it a seasonal tradition. Whether you read in detail or skim through the pages, the book fuels your holiday spirit. When you put out your milk and cookies for Santa, make sure you also leave out a copy of Michelangelo Sketchbook: A Wonderful Holiday Tale.

Check back for more holiday hijinks all December during Cowabunga Christmas!

Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.
